Carers support

Carer Gateway

Carer Gateway is an Australian Government program providing free services and support for carers.

Services include in-person and online peer support groups, tailored support packages, in-person and phone counselling, in-person and online self-guided coaching, online skills courses and access to emergency respite.

Carers Victoria

Carers Victoria is the statewide voice for family carers, representing and providing support to carers in Victoria.

Alfred Carers

Alfred Carers are an advisory and support service for unpaid carers located in Melbourne’s south metropolitan region.

Alfred Health Carer Services can help you with information and resources, assist you to identify helpful services in or outside the home and give you some support to manage your own health and wellbeing.

Carers and companion cards

The Victorian Government’s Carer Card and Companion Card programs provide opportunities for discounts and benefits to carers and people with disability.

Carer Card

The Victorian Carer Card recognises the significant contribution carers make to the lives of people they care for and the communities in which they live. Carer Card holders receive various discounts and benefits.

Companion Card

The Companion Card is for people with significant and permanent disability who have a lifelong need for a high level of support to participate in community events and activities. The card allows a person's carer free entry into participating venues and events.
