Orrong Park Tennis Centre redevelopment
The Orrong Park Tennis Centre consists of synthetic grass tennis courts with lighting, and is managed by leisure services provider, Bluefit, who offer tennis programs, coaching, run competitions and manage casual court hire to the community.
The old courts were in need of repair, which presented an opportunity to upgrade the courts and create multi-use courts that can be used for tennis and netball. By doing this, we are expanding the community benefit of this local sporting facility. The main users of the netball courts will be the Prahran Netball Association and its affiliated clubs, who have a large number of local members.
Community-focused tennis programs, coaching, competitions and casual tennis court hire will continue.

February 2022 - Orrong Park multi-courts opening
Orrong Park Tennis Centre will re-open to tennis and netball from 27 February, after a 16-month rebuild.
The old tennis courts closed in late-2021 for a full redevelopment and transform them into a multi-court facility accommodating five tennis and five netball courts. Originally slated for a mid‑2022 return, the project was unavoidably delayed, and the construction timeline pushed back to resolve latent conditions discovered during the excavation of the old courts.
To complement the new multi-courts we’ve upgraded the drainage, added new perimeter fencing and new energy-efficient LED lighting – creating a contemporary facility that will be enjoyed by club members and the community for many years to come.
The redevelopment of the courts was jointly funded by the City of Stonnington and Victorian Government.

April 2022
Excavation for the new courts unearthed contamination which has made it necessary to redesign the facility substructure to comply with environmental recommendations. This will cause an unfortunate delay to the construction timeline with the original estimated completion date of May 2022 revised to October 2022.
