Sleepout Rough for the Homeless

Event-Logo-Only

A Rotary project helping those in our community facing homelessness.

We need you to sleep out rough for just one night to help us find homes for people who sleep rough every night.

You can be part of a corporate team or an individual who can ask friends, family and colleagues to support your effort via a donation.

Event registrations are now open. You can choose to be one of our sleepers, sponsor a sleeper, or just donate to this great cause.

Homelessness in Victoria

On any given day, Victorian homelessness services must turn away 96 people.

The top three reasons for people seeking homelessness assistance in Victoria are:

  • financial difficulties (46%)
  • family and domestic violence (44%)
  • housing crisis (34%).

25% of Victorians without a home are young people between 12 and 24 years (Council to Homeless Persons).

Recipient for this year's event

South Port Community Housing Group is this year's event charity recipient, an accredited specialist homelessness service regulated by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. They help individuals with experiences of homelessness to get back on their feet by providing affordable housing, education and employment, and support with health issues.

Rotary Clubs Chadstone/East Malvern, Malvern, Port Philip and Prahran have come together to raise awareness and much-needed funds to support housing solutions for those facing homelessness.
