Flag Raising Ceremony 2024

Let’s take the opportunity during NAIDOC Week 2024 to listen, learn and engage in meaningful dialogue with our First Nations peoples.

The City of Stonnington invites you to join us for a special event to celebrate our indigenous culture ahead of NAIDOC Week with a Flag Raising ceremony and special Yidaki (didgeridoo) performance.

Both the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags will be raised and accompanied by a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony by representatives from the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung people and Yugerra and Ugarem Le man, John Wayne Parsons, who will share stories from his lands.

Following proceedings, all are welcome to enjoy light refreshments and a cuppa.
