Stonnington community groups who are incorporated and meet the eligibility criteria as per the Community Transport Principles of Service can hire minibuses or book a large bus with a driver for short-term or regular bookings at a subsidised cost.
We also run a community transport program, providing transport assistance to events and popular locations in the city.
A self-drive (12 seat) bus is available for hire by eligible not-for-profit community groups.
Day trip hire
Stonnington Community groups can hire a 17-passenger bus with driver for a Day Trip outing. The Day Trip service is very popular, and access is limited. Most bookings require advance booking up to 12 months ahead.
This service operates 9.00am to 4.00pm only on Mondays and Thursdays.

Children are welcome; however, buses are not fitted with child seating equipment. Children must use an adult seat. They are not permitted to sit on a passenger's lap.
Self-drive bus hire

Regular weekly bus service
Our regular transport service is for community groups requiring transport to and from their weekly programs. The service provides pick up with the option for same day return, and we supply a driver.
Hire applications for the regular weekly service can be submitted anytime during the year.

To submit, you can email it to communitytransport@stonnington.vic.gov.au. Alternatively, you can submit it at our service centre at 311 Glenferrie Road, Malvern.
Once an application is approved we will:
- provide you with an invoice on the day with payment options
- provide details of the bus pick up location
- provide a brief bus orientation.
