Appeal a planning decision

If you are dissatisfied with an outcome you can appeal the decision.

Applicants

If you applied for a planning permit, you may wish to appeal a decision if:

  • your permit has been refused
  • you are dissatisfied with the conditions placed on the permit.

If you have objected to a planning application and are dissatisfied with the outcome, you can appeal the decision.

How to appeal a decision

Check you are in the right timeframe

You must appeal:

  • applicant - within 60 days of the decision
  • objector - within 28 days of the decision.

VCAT will send a copy of its decision in writing to all parties involved with the appeal.
