The City of Stonnington has moved to a new online service system. There may be processing delays during the transition period.
If you start to make a payment in our online platform but don't complete the transaction, you must wait 15 minutes before trying again.
Old plans can be useful to architects, draftspersons and engineers for designing alterations or ascertaining the loads possible to be sustained by older buildings. They may also be of historical interest to owners.
The types of documents that may be available include:
- architectural and structural plans
- computations
- building permits
- occupancy permits and certificates of final inspection.
How to apply
To apply for a plan search you must be the current owner of the property. If you are an agent of the owner, you must provide written consent from the current owner of the property (purchase settlement must be completed).
If your property has an owners’ corporation, you must get written and signed authorisation on from a person acting on their behalf (such as a manager). This must be on owners' corporation letterhead.
