Welcome to the Healing Ceremony 2025

The City of Stonnington will host its fourth annual Healing Ceremony, following the Citizenship Ceremony on Sunday, 26 January 2025 at Malvern Cricket Ground (11.45am to 1.15pm).

The community is invited to attend the Healing Ceremony with our Traditional Custodians, the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung peoples of the Kulin Nation, to pay respect and acknowledge their living connection to Country, relationship with the land and all living things extending back tens of thousands of years.

The ceremony includes:

  • Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony and Yidaki performance
  • musical performance by John Wayne Parsons and band
  • BBQ lunch.

The ceremony supports Council’s Reconciliation journey and is an opportunity for the community to learn about what the day means to Traditional Custodians.
