Children's Book Week

Join us to celebrate Children's Book Week® and experience the wonder and imagination of books, stories and reading.

Children's Book Week® is a much-loved annual literary event and highlights the importance of reading and showcases Australian children's books, authors, and illustrators. This year’s theme is “Reading is magic”.

In addition to all your favourite regular programs, we also have two special workshops for budding storytellers and illustrators, and a bookmark design competition. You can also explore a selection of the Children's Book Council of Australia's shortlisted titles on Story Box Library. 

Design A Stonnington Library Bookmark Competition

Our annual Design A Stonnington Library Bookmark Competition is now open. The competition, from 1 to 31 August is open to children and young people aged 5 to 17 years. This year’s theme is ‘Reading is magic’ and you can use this to inspire your own design.
