Medicare is 40 this year.

Medicare was introduced in 1984 to help Australians access a wide range of health and hospital services at low or no cost.

To mark the 40th anniversary of Medicare and showcase its history, the Department of Health and Aged Care has launched a pop-up display in libraries across Australia.

Visit the Phoenix Park Library and check out our historical #40YearsOfMedicare display. It’s on from Monday 26 August until Wednesday 11 September, and you’ll also find information about current Medicare services.
