1000 Books Before School

1000 Books Before School is an early literacy program aimed at infants and preschool children to encourage a reading habit and love of stories in young children.

Pick up your 1000 Books Before School reading record from any of our libraries. It will encourage you to keep track of the number of books read to your child and celebrates milestones along the way. 

Each time a book is read to a child – at home, at a storytime or anywhere – note it in the record. When a reading milestone is reached, you’ll find a certificate of achievement, which you can bring into one of our libraries for special recognition by Stonnington library staff.
