Lumley Gardens

A dog-friendly park and children's playground with accessible equipment (such as basket swings with rubber matting) tucked behind Williams Street, Prahran.

With a BBQ area and ample lawns, Lumley Gardens are a favourite spot for locals to socialise, exercise their dogs and get some tree time.

History

The gardens are named after former Mayor of Prahran, William Benjamin Lumley (1878-1935), who purchased and then gifted most of the site to Council for recreation purposes in 1928/29.

In the late 1940s, the park was used as a flower farm to supply all of Prahran Council with flowers for a time.
