Avalon Centre

Brochure-photo-2

Avalon is a small Charity established in 1987 and run entirely by volunteers. The aim is to meet unmet needs and offer a helping hand to the people whom society has left behind.

Avalon offers support to people experiencing homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, domestic violence or mental health issues, as well as people with disabilities, Asylum seekers and anyone who requires support. Avalon's mission statement is simply "to help where we can, when we can and in whatever way we can"

Services include:

  • The weekly Drop-In: held every Monday at the Avalon Centre in East Malvern. Everyone is welcome and there is no charge. The Drop-In provides an opportunity to have a cuppa, join in activities, have a chat and make new friends.
  • Makeover day: once a month, Avalon offers free haircuts, make up, nails and clothing (including a sausage sizzle!).  This is held at the centre on the first Monday of the month.
  • The Homeless Clothes and Bedding Distribution: provides much-needed support to the most vulnerable members in the community.  The moving Wardrobe travels to different destinations providing clothes, bedding, shoes, bags and toiletries available to those in need.
  • Avalon Homes for The Homeless: Avalon provides affordable accommodation along with ongoing, tailored support.

We always welcome new volunteers to help us with our quest. There is a role to suit everyone.
