About the work
Colours chosen reflect the natural surrounds and bay side location, combining soothing greens, turquoise and blues with earthy oranges, yellows and sandy tones. Inclusion of eucalyptus leaves, Silver Banksia is representative of native coastal flora.
The diagonal flow of the design and separation of colours implies movement, similar to what is used in directional traffic arrows and barricade tape.
Meggs has provided full coverage of the space using abstract textures and colours that blend well and leave no empty or open spaces for tagging or graffiti. Colours chosen are also effective in reducing the visibility of dirt, pollution, marks and damage over time.
