As a service to local businesses, we install trader directional signs to direct motorists and pedestrians traffic to businesses on side streets in commercial areas.

Trader directional sign poles are installed at intersections of major roads, with the signs often pointing to businesses on side streets.

Businesses can apply for signs at their preferred location. Some locations have an existing pole however at times, one needs to be installed.

Key information

If there is an existing pole

Each pole can hold up to five signs. If the pole already has five signs, you are welcome to contact us again when space becomes available.

If a new pole is needed

To install a new pole, at least three businesses must apply and pay for a trader directional sign. We suggest speaking to other businesses in your street to see if others want a sign installed.

How to apply

Prepare your logo

We provide sign writing and printing as part of the service. If you want us to manufacture the sign, you can upload the logo during application.

You can also manufacture your own sign. However, you must obtain City of Stonnington approval before proceeding.

If you plan to manufacture your own sign, use this template(PDF, 187KB) to ensure your design meets our specifications. Signs that do not meet specifications will not be installed.

The sign should contain your business name and logo only. The business address, website or contact details are not permitted.

Once you have prepared your logo or design, you can submit your application online.
