- This permit is issued on condition that the person or incorporated entity, to whom or to which it is issued (the “Permit Holder”), complies at all times with the City of Stonnington general Local Law 2018 (No.1). View a copy of the Local Law.
- This permit is issued on condition that any authorised items relating to the activity specified in the permit, such as give aways (product samples) remain in use only for the specified permit activity.
- Consideration must be given to other traders and premises during the permit time and reduce potential commercial conflict with existing traders.
- Street promotion and sampling activities are only permitted during the permit times.
- Street promotion and sampling activities are prohibited within Stonnington during the month of December.
- While conducting street promotion and sampling activities, the permit holder must maintain a minimum clearance of 1.5 metres on the footpath for pedestrian access and must not obstruct the footpath. A clear walking space (measured from the building line) must be maintained at all times.
- This permit must be carried at all times by the permit holder, during the permitted activity and produced on demand by an Authorised Officer of Council.
- The Council reserves the right to revoke or amend any permit issued by the City of Stonnington without notice in the event of any breach of these conditions.
- Permit holders are prohibited from selling or offering to sell any merchandise or product.
- An Authorised Officer of Council may at any time direct a permit holder to relocate or cease their activities if the Officer deems it to be offensive, or to the annoyance of another person or is not able to produce a permit on request.
- The total number of days that any one company/business may conduct street promotion and sampling activities within the City of Stonnington is five Activity Periods per application.
- Requests for setting up a table, stand, stall, trestle or similar will only be considered by Council on the condition that Public Liability Insurance cover for a minimum of $20 million remains valid for the permit period.
- Any request for a permit to conduct street promotion and sampling activities will be considered on the grounds of availability of dates and times.
- All street promotion and sampling activities must be undertaken using passive methods only and the use of intimidatory, confronting or aggressive methods are prohibited and may result in the revocation of the permit.
- Council reserves the right to give preference to Stonnington-based organisations.
Note: Street promotion and sampling activities must only be conducted during the approved permit period and a new application is required upon expiry of the permit.
It is the responsibility of the permit holder to ensure they hold a current permit to conduct street promotion and sampling activities in Stonnington.
