Caulfield Station Precinct Structure Plan

The Victorian Planning Authority (VPA), Glen Eira City Council, Stonnington City Council, the Caulfield Racecourse Reserve Trust (CRRT) and the Department of Transport (DoT) have collaborated to initiate the development of the Caulfield Station Precinct Structure Plan. Glen Eira City Council is leading the preparation of a structure plan for the Caulfield Station Precinct.

Level Crossing removals

Over the next eight years, the State Government will deliver a coordinated program to remove 50 of the worst level crossings in Melbourne. This will improve safety, reduce congestion and enable more frequent train services.

Prahran public housing renewal program

Housing Victoria (previously the Department of Health and Human Services) has prepared a renewal plan for the Horace Petty, Bangs, King and Essex streets housing estates.

The plan will guide the long-term renewal of housing, outdoor areas and community facilities at the four sites.

The estates, built nearly 50 years ago, need a comprehensive plan to improve their liveability and better connect them with surrounding precincts.

Renewal of the Bangs Street estate has been scheduled, and preparatory and demolition works were completed in December 2020.

South Yarra Station upgrade

The Victorian Government is upgrading South Yarra Station, one of Melbourne’s busiest stations.

The South Yarra Station upgrade has completed and includes improvements to the entrance, layout and amenities, a new canopy over the entrance and a new tram stop on Toorak Road.

New traffic conditions are currently being trailed.
