In 2024, we will build a new pocket park at the northern end of Vista Grove in Toorak.
Located at the end of the Vista Grove cul-de-sac the park is perched high above Alexandra Avenue and enjoys uninterrupted views across the Yarra River. Walkers can visit the park via Vista Grove or a footpath that runs up the hill from the corner of Alexandra and Verdant avenues.
In April 2021, a draft concept design was provided to the local community for feedback at a community drop-in session. Feedback from the community has been incorporated into the final design which was shared with Vista Grove and surrounding households in September 2021.
These works will see the existing grassed area at the cul-de-sac end of Vista Grove expanded with more greenery, new seating, garden beds, a paved viewing area, a new footpath connection and feature planting. All existing trees will be retained.

Consultation
The design of the Vista Grove pocket park was completed in collaboration with the surrounding community.
In April 2021, Vista Grove and surrounding households were invited to give their feedback on a draft concept design.
Feedback on the draft design was considered and the following changes made to the design:
- The removal of one on-street car parking bay (the draft suggested the removal of four bays).
- The size of the new garden bed has been reduced.
- A backrest has been added to the new bench seating.
