Prahran Aquatic refurbishment

From mid-2023, the popular Prahran Aquatic Centre was closed for an expected three-month refurbishment.
Open since 1963 and previously updated in the 90s, the pools and buildings showed signs of wear and tear and needed a refresh.
The works involved:
- emptying and repairing the 50-metre and toddler pools
- upgrading the pool surrounds
- completing minor repairs to the grandstand seating
- updating the tiles and fittings in the change rooms
- making improvements to the spa and sauna areas.
The refurbishment works will bring the centre to a serviceable level for the mid-term, with a full redevelopment planned for later through the Princes Gardens masterplan implementation.
