Prahran Aquatic refurbishment

From mid-2023, the popular Prahran Aquatic Centre was closed for an expected three-month refurbishment.

Open since 1963 and previously updated in the 90s, the pools and buildings showed signs of wear and tear and needed a refresh.

The works involved:

  • emptying and repairing the 50-metre and toddler pools
  • upgrading the pool surrounds
  • completing minor repairs to the grandstand seating
  • updating the tiles and fittings in the change rooms
  • making improvements to the spa and sauna areas.

The refurbishment works will bring the centre to a serviceable level for the mid-term, with a full redevelopment planned for later through the Princes Gardens masterplan implementation.
